WORD is an Afro Latina owned creative agency dedicated to culturally rich storytelling, brand elevation & experiential marketing.
We are connected to the evolving needs of women and marginalized people and work tirelessly to support, connect and empower our communities through content and experiences that speak to the current climate. We are a community centered creative house working with brands and people who want to make the world a better place.
WORD Creative is dedicated to culturally-rich storytelling, brand elevation and experiential marketing rooted in brands that are excited to support connection and authenticity in multicultural communities. Our multi-hyphenate team, based in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, are producers, creative directors, copywriters and art directors who are selected for each project based on their unique understanding of the concept and end goal.

Founder
Zoila Darton is a passionate storyteller and relentless innovator. Born in Madrid, Spain to a Jewish mother and a Jamaican-Panamanian father, she grew up in New York City celebrating the power of creativity and individuality— an eclectic upbringing to say the least. From covering New York Fashion Week to sitting front row at The Latin GRAMMY Awards, Zoila began her early career working in the fashion and music industries, eventually becoming Director of Marketing and Artist Relations at Mayimba Music, a Latin music publishing and distribution company.
After a decade of fighting for racial and ethnic representation in the music industry, WORD Creative Community Founder and Creative Director, Zoila Darton, dreamt of a world where she and her peers were in the driver’s seat—creating the representation they had always imagined. From those dreams, WORD was born: a creative agency ideating and executing brand storytelling for iconic companies like Nike, HBO, Foot Locker and Meta where Zoila and her multi-hyphenate team are the heartbeat behind all the magic.
Zoila believes in proper representation both in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the boardroom. WORD is the manifestation of those dreams, and she is just getting started.
